Stewart is located approximately 300 kilometers from Terrace at the westernmost point of Hwy 37A. It is situated at the head of the Portland Canal. The population of Stewart has declined over the years since the first prospectors came to the area in the spring of 1898.
Meziadin is a small community situated at the crossroads of Hwy 37 and 37A. It is located two hours north of Kitwanga along Hwy 37. Meziadin Lake Provincial Park is a popular place in the summer for camping and fishing.
